Monitoring our Multi-Year Strategic Plan (MYSP)

In September 2024, the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) launched the 2024-2028 Multi-Year Strategic Plan that will guide the work of our school district over the next four years.

Each year, the Director of Education reports back to the Board of Trustees on the specific steps undertaken across our school system to work towards the goals in our strategic plan. To support this work, a monitoring strategy was developed to track progress in each of the priority areas - Achieving, Believing, Belonging and Becoming - and to identify data sources that inform our analysis.

Why We Monitor

Monitoring is the ongoing and systematic collection of data about initiatives that support the MYSP. It helps us understand whether our actions are on track - in terms of timelines, budgets, and outputs - and allows us to make timely adjustments when needed. This process ensures that our efforts continue to foster growth, improvement, and alignment with our shared goals.

The HCDSB Research and Development Services team conducts this monitoring annually on behalf of the Director of Education.

Monitoring Progress During Year 1 of Implementation: 2024-2025 School Year

A variety of monitoring activities were used to inform the progress during the first year of implementation, including:

Additionally, a series of qualitative and quantitative indicators were used to measure progress in Year 1. View the MYSP Indicators for Year 1. Data Sources include: CEC departmental records, System Surveys, and the EQAO public dashboards from the 2024-25 school year, or the most recent year available. The results of these indicators are presented in this MYSP Monitoring Dashboard.
